Power Adapter#National Standard

1, standard number
Power adapter as a common electronic and electrical accessories, its standard specification in our country also has the corresponding standard document, specifically "power adapter" GB4943.1-2011. the standard document mainly through the standardization of power adapter design, manufacturing, testing and other aspects of the requirements to ensure that the power adapter's quality and performance stability, and to improve the safety of the use of electronic and electrical appliances.

2、Scope of application
The standard document applies to the output voltage of 250V or less, the output current of 10A or less, the rated output power of 5W or more power adapters. Among them, the rated output power between 5W ~ 250W, applicable to the higher technical requirements of the "technical requirements standard" GB17625.1 in the provisions.

3、Technical Requirements
(1) The rated output power of the power adapter should be greater than or equal to the maximum power demand of the load.
(2) The power adapter should have over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection to ensure the safety of use.
(3)The input voltage range of the power adapter should be in accordance with the national standard to prevent the input voltage from not conforming to the rated input voltage of the adapter, resulting in damage or danger.
(4) The power cord of the power adapter should comply with the national standards and have sufficient cord cross-sectional area to prevent overloading or overheating of the cord.
(5) The power switch of the power adapter shall comply with national standards and the switch shall have sufficient insulation strength and current carrying capacity.
(6) The output of the power adapter shall comply with national standards to ensure that the connection with the powered equipment meets the safety requirements.

4、Test method
(1) The input voltage, output voltage, output current, output power, efficiency and other indicators of the power adapter should be tested according to national standards or contract requirements.
(2) The power adapter should be tested for over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection to ensure the effectiveness of these protection functions.

5, quality control
Power adapter manufacturers should establish a quality management system to ensure that the quality of the product is stable and in line with national standards and norms. At the same time, it is also necessary to carry out strict incoming inspection, production process control, finished product inspection and other links to ensure that the quality of each step of the supervision.
In short, understanding the national standard specifications for power adapters can improve the safety and performance stability of power adapters, reduce unnecessary damage and accidents, and better protect the interests of users.
